BBonline.com was one of the first sites which introduced Bed & Breakfast inns – some 5,000 of them – to fans and prospective guests. I helped the company move from a plain-text listserv email setup to a more attractive and interactive html newsletter format. My content included contests, popular B&B recipes, with feature stories and photos. All this helped grow the mailing list for the monthly Inngoers business-to-consumer newsletter to some 25,000 recipients. A monthly Innkeepers newsletter offered about 5,000 subscribers a business-to-business channel for marketing tips, news updates and more. I also wrote and distributed monthly press releases, and implemented national promotions and contests with commercial partners including Lowe's home improvement stores; curated a travel section of the site which listed inns and attractions near Interstate highways and scenic routes; and worked with management to spotlight and promote the recipes section of the site.
